About these terms
These terms apply to the Shared Step website and services provided by CTF Designs, LLC. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them. Questions can be sent to roman@ctfdesigns.com.
Who the app is for
Shared Step is intended for adults who have the authority to record and manage the information they enter. Use it lawfully and respect the privacy and rights of the other parent, children, and anyone mentioned in a record.
A record, not a ruling
The app organizes information you enter. It does not verify an expense, establish a debt, determine either parent’s legal responsibility, interpret a court order, or resolve a dispute. A balance reflects your entries and chosen splits. Reports are not legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice, and we do not guarantee that a court or mediator will accept them. Verify records and consult a qualified professional when needed. The app does not transfer money or collect reimbursements.
Price and purchase
Shared Step costs $4.99 as a one-time app purchase, including expense logging and PDF reports. There is no subscription or separate report-unlock purchase. The final price and any applicable taxes are shown in the App Store purchase flow before you pay. Apple processes purchases, refunds, and re-downloads under its applicable terms. Use the Apple account associated with your purchase when downloading the app again. A one-time purchase does not promise indefinite compatibility with future devices or operating systems. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Your records and backups
You retain rights to your records. You are responsible for their accuracy, the information you are authorized to enter, the recipients you choose, and keeping usable backups. Local records can be lost if a device fails, the app is deleted, or access is lost. Keep your backup passphrase safe; we cannot recover it or restore records we do not hold.
App license and website materials
The iPhone app is licensed under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement unless a different license is presented with the app. CTF Designs, LLC retains rights in the Shared Step name, branding, website, and other materials, except for your records and third-party materials. You may use the website for its intended purpose. Do not impersonate us, misuse our branding, interfere with the service, or attempt unauthorized access.
Availability and changes
The website currently describes an app that is coming soon. Features and availability may change before launch. We may update the app or website to improve it, address security issues, or respond to platform changes. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Changes to paid features remain subject to applicable law and purchase terms.
Warranties and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, the website and services are provided as available without additional warranties. We are not responsible for errors in information you enter, disputes between parents, or the actions of recipients you choose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, limits mandatory consumer protections, or overrides rights granted under the applicable app license.
Updates to these terms
Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Where legally required, we will provide additional notice or seek agreement. If you have a concern, contact us so we can try to resolve it.
